Clearly Misunderstood

Throughout my life I have always struggled with internal battles that I kept to myself. As I grew up, I found different ways to express these emotions and battles without verbally communicating them. In my artwork my goal has been to visually show my audience that they are not alone with these feelings and to acknowledge them or find a piece of themselves in them.

“Clearly Misunderstood” is a series of images that take on emotions from past life events that may have been good, bad, or confusing to understand myself. Through the images are a figure with no identity or to eliminate any sort of back story, opening up interpretation to my audience. Through unusual body poses, some photo manipulation, and simple settings, this figure portrays real emotions with a hint of humor to balance it out.
